Chandni Chowk To China Hindi (CC2C) Movie Review
After the successful 'Singh is Kinng', Akshay Kumar's 'Chandni Chowk To China' (CC2C) came across Chandni Chowk To Chinaas a big disappointment. Though we were not expecting any logic in the movie, there were hardly any laughs also. The two and a half hours movie was full of stale jokes, with scenes that seemed to be stretching on endlessly. The characterization is pathetic, with exaggerated stereotypes being used everywhere. Talking about cinematography, the film failed to capture the exotic locales of China. In fact, except for some shots of the Great Wall and the Shanghai city, we could hardly see China in CC2C.

'Chandni Chowk To China' was also touted to be a tribute to the yesteryears cinemas of Hindi as well as Chinese film industry. However, right from the lost-and-found family formula, double role and memory loss to orphaned street child protagonist and revenge, none of the aspects managed to bring out the homage. From India's 'Sholay' to China's 'Kung Fu Panda', the derivatives were too many and too pronounced. There are excessive clichés in the screenplay. Another disappointment was Akshay Kumar's martial arts training, which was the main highlight of the movie, but completed within one transition song.

The script as well as screenplay of 'Chandni Chowk To China' didn't leave much scope for good performances. Akshay Kumar was not his usual, comic self, while Ranveer Shorey was totally wasted in the movie. At the same time, CC2C failed to exploit the potential of Chinese legend Gordon Liu well. While Roger Yuan did give us some entertaining moments, the same cannot be said for Mithun Chakravarthy, who was not given much scope. Deepika Padukone came across as a pleasant relief, especially in her Chinese Avatar. All in all, this movie is definitely not worth spending your bucks on!

The much awaited movie of the year, with Salman and Katrina paired opposite each other, has finally hit the theaters and if you believe us, Salman can surely be termed as the 'Yuvvraaj' (prince). He is one actor that you should really look forward to watching in the movie. He has played the part of a super brat with complete conviction and definitely manages to impress.

Katrina is another actor that you should look forward to. She manages to hold her own in a bevy of established actors, like Anil, Salman and Boman. As for the most important part, the chemistry between Salman and Katrina, we wish we could be witness to more. The couple sizzled on-screen, though for a very short duration. Talking about other performances, Anil Kapoor was excellent in the role of an autistic, while Boman Irani was, as usual, his brilliant self.

We hope Zayed Khan could match up to others, though he is not too bad. Subhash Ghai had a good concept behind the movie and even its execution was very good. However, the movie was not completely faultless. One of the loopholes was the faulty script. Even the end was quite predictable. Still, the cinematography was excellent and the music, by A.R. Rahman, simply superb. All in all, 'Yuvvraaj' is a movie worth the money spent on multiplex tickets!

Why do girls always fall for a wrong guy? And why does the guy always repent at the end for not identifying his real love? The story of Bachna Ae Haseeno revolves around these puzzling questions against a backdrop of stylish tale of love and lust. The film is sporadic genre film portraying three different romantic incidents in the life of protagonist Raj ( Ranbir Kapoor), who is not exactly like Casanova but his promiscuity with women is no less than classic Venetian adventurer.

Bachna Ae Haseeno is all about a lucky boy who has three romantic moorings. While first two are just settings to get the girls but the third one is serious. Here, the new millennial Romeo with his wild, unpredictable and jaunty playboy characteristics entangles in three track love story. All the three tracks are dissimilar and have been given a different treatment.

The promise that Ranbir Kapoor displayed in his debut movie Sawaaria, has been continued in Bachna Ae Haseeno. He carries his role with elegance and looks a perfect chocolate boy. Minissha has done well with has given a creditable performance. Bipasa Basu has been given the most coveted role and she gives a spectacular peformance.But the most disappointing part was indeed the Deepika Padukoune’s role where the script didn’t allow her to do anything promising.

The music by Vishal Shekhar Ravjiani is soothing and has already become quite popular. Shilpa Rao has gotten her big break in “ Khuda Jane” song while KK with his usual high tone fetched the song to life. Other songs like “Ahishta Ahishta” , “Jogi Mahi” and the title song “ Bachna Ae Haseeno” are quite entertaining.

Director Siddharth Raj has done a good job albeit of a poor script. The story and script lacked imagination and innovation, especially in the second half when the movie has gone through some sad moments. The best part of the movie is its cinematography
