The Sri Lankans never helped themselves by losing early wickets and were once again under a threat of being skittled out under 100. But the age old problem of the Indians came to the surface again as they allowed Thushara and skipper Jayawardene to settle in and pile on a fabulous partnership late in the innings. Once the partnership was broken, it was all over for the Sri Lankans. Mahela went down fighting but one needs to accept that the Lankans never batted well to chase this total down.
Mahendra Singh Dhoni is the Man of the Match for his fine knock of 76 which enabled India post a challenging total.Match Status: India won by 33 runs
