Watch Lindsay Lohan's Full Today Interview - March 2012 (video)

At 25, some people are just getting started in life, but Lindsay Lohan is getting ready to make her comeback. To promote it and the SNL stint that will make it possible, she sat down for an interview with Matt Lauer on The Today Show.

Lindsay Lohan's Today Interview
As we also informed you the other day, Lohan is almost in the clear after years of legal issues for various offenses.

She's also determined to get back in the spotlight for her work and not her personal life, which is just one of the things she discussed with Lauer.

She also talks about her wanting to win an Oscar in five years from now (tops), how she misses being on set, making films, learning from experience, changing her life and, last but not least, the Elizabeth Taylor movie she'll soon start shooting for Lifetime.

“I’ve learned how to live my life in a way that I’m happy, and I can do the things that I want to do. I’ve grown,” Lindsay tells Lauer about how the past year, with prison stints, community work and rehab, has changed her.

Not once does she go into specifics (about her abuse problems, how long she's been sober), but she does make it clear that she's not the same person she was a while ago.

She's removed various people from her life, surrounded herself only with people she can trust and finally got that kick that made her realize she was one step closer to losing it all.

“I think it was – it’s a scary thing to have to kind of express to people,” she says of being in denial at 19. “I wasn’t as comfortable with myself then. I think it was a fear factor that I had about what was really going on. And, you know, I had to get that wakeup call.”

Lohan believes all her problems had one cause: she was too lonely.

“Some of the main things are the people you surround yourselves with… I just allowed a lot of people to be around me at all times, and I don’t think they were necessarily there for the right reasons, and I wasn’t concerned with all that,” she explains.

Lindsay promises all that has changed – and Lauer seems to believe her. Watch the clips to see if you do too.

The two stars, who serve as voice cast on upcoming animated movie "The Lorax", were rumored to be dating lately. They, however, denied the romance report and told DeGeneres that she taught him how to play guitar.

"He's really good at it, like one lesson," she praised him. "I taught him how to play 'Pumped Up Kicks'." Instead of sticking to the original lyrics of the Foster the People song, they altered the lines.

"Ellen works a long day/ giving weird interviews in a slick cool sweater," Efron sings. "And it gets kind of weird/ Calling us out like we're boyfriend and girlfriend. But it's not 'cuz we're just sitting here." Swift jumped in with her own revised verses, "I've been on this show 8 times now, And I still remember Ellen hiding in the bathroom with a hidden camera. She scared me so bad I fell and I could've died. She always asks me who I'm dating every time I'm on the show. And I don't even know why."

Watch Whitney Houston's Full Interview With Oprah Winfrey in 2009 (Video and transcript)

With more than 140 million albums sold worldwide, icon Whitney Houston is the most awarded woman in music history. Her powerful presence filled the screen in The Bodyguard, which made more than $400 million worldwide. The film's soundtrack remains the best-selling of all time. But behind her megastar success, Whitney hid the intense personal pain of her tumultuous 14-year marriage to R&B star Bobby Brown and a battle with drug abuse.

Whitney Houston interviewed by Oprah Winfrey
Whitney retreated from the spotlight after a controversial 2002 interview with Diane Sawyer. In 2003, she faced more media attention after calling 911 to report that her husband hit her. The police report said Whitney had a bruised cheek and a cut inside her upper lip. Still, she refused to press charges. He was not convicted and has publicly denied ever hitting her. The couple went public once again in 2005 on Bravo's reality show Being Bobby Brown.>

Whitney has stayed silent about it all—until now. Back with her first album in seven years, I Look to You, she's sitting down with Oprah and opening up like never before about her past, present and bright future.

Whitney Houston interviewed by Winfrey for a two-part season premiere of The Oprah Winfrey Show, airing 2009 Sept. 14 and 15.

Oprah: The very first time I had you on my show, however many years ago, I thought, "You are 'the voice.'"
There was a time, I read, where you were actually thinking in this past seven years—because you haven't done an album since 2002—that you were thinking of, I read, going to an island and having a fruit stand?

Whitney: Yeah. ... Growing organic fruit with my daughter on a little island on the beach and everything, living the simple life. You have to understand, I have been all around the world ... and I'd done it all at that point in time, or I thought. However, I wasn't remembering the gift that God had given me. I had totally put all that aside. And my daughter was growing up before my eyes, and I just wanted to grab hold of that. ... At that time in my life, I was going through such trauma. ... I thought that was enough for me. I had the money. I had the cars. I had the house. Had the husband. Had the kid. And none of it was really that fulfilling. For a time, I was happy. I was happy, but I needed that joy. I needed my joy back. I needed that peace that passes all understanding.

Oprah: There's a wonderful quote by the L.A. Times. They said, "The pain, and frankly, disgust that so many pop fans felt during Houston's decline was caused not so much by her personal distress as by her seemingly careless treatment of the national treasure that happened to reside within her." ... You were not like any of the others. You really were given the voice. You were given that treasure. And people felt, how could you not know that that was to be treasured?

Whitney: I knew in the days when I was a teenager singing for God. I was so sure. When I became "Whitney Houston" and all this other stuff that happened, my life became the world's. My privacy. My business. Who I was with. Who I married. And I was, like, that's not fair. I wanted to go to the park. I wanted to walk down the street with my husband, hand in hand, without somebody looking at us or having the media always in my business. ... I just wanted to be normal. ...

Ann Curry and Aung San Suu Kyi Interview
After traveling to Asia, NBC's Ann Curry was denied the visa she needed to enter Myanmar to interview Suu Kyi. However, because she was able to sneak a camera into the country, she conducted the interview by phone from the U.S.

"Freedom and democracy are dreams you never give up," said Suu Kyi, who has been imprisoned for 15 of the last 21 years. President Obama has described her as one of his heros, but Suu Kyi insists, "If I were the blushing kind, I would blush to be called a hero."
