The
Official Kick-off Celebration Concert takes place on Thursday, June 10, 2010. While many internationally renowned musical artists including
John Legend, the Black Eyed Peas and Alicia Keys will be performing,
Shakira will sing the
2010 FIFA Official World Cup song, Waka Waka, during the
three-hour extravaganza.
Zakumi the Leopard, the official Mascot with attitude, will also make an appearance during the
concert in Orlando Stadium in Soweto. The
opening ceremony for the
2010 FIFA World Cup will start today June 10 at
Soccer City in Johannesburg, South Africa 2 PM.
At 8:00 p.m. local time (GMT+2)/2:00 p.m. ET on June 10, Vevo will webcast the entire celebration concert in high definition live from the newly-renovated Orlando Stadium.
