Fortunately, Robert Downey Jr. brought some laughs to the stage later when he revealed that sleeping with him was the key to success for the five leading ladies nominated for Best Actress in a Comedy or Musical:
Putting a timeframe on the span of Pixar's great work, Toy Story 3 director Lee Unkrich wondered whether his award presenters, True Grit star Hailee Steinfeld and pop star Justin Bieber (I don't know why he was there either), were even alive when Toy Story was released in 1995:
Though Ricky Gervais dishes out some good-natured swipes at Steve Carell, the star of NBC's "The Office" literally has the last laugh before joining Tina Fey to introduce the nominees for Best Original Screenplay and Best Adapted Screenplay:
And then screenwriter Aaron Sorkin gave this phenomenal speech after winning the award for Best Adapted Screenplay for writing The Social Network which also went on to win Best Drama later that night along with David Fincher winning Best Director:
Finally, Robert De Niro gave an awkward hut hilarious speech where he even poked fun at Little Fockers while accepting the Cecil B. DeMille Award for lifetime achievement in film:
