Oracle has announced the release of Oracle Linux 5.8, the latest update in the 5.x series of the distribution built from source packages for Red Hat Enterprise Linux 5.8 operating system.
Being based on the recently released Red Hat Enterprise Linux 5.8, Oracle Enterprise Linux 5.8 ships with three kernels:
Oracle Enterprise Linux 5.8 is 100% compatible with the upstream release from Red Hat. This release brings numerous bugfixes and updated drivers for storage and network.
Oracle Enterprise Linux 5.8 is distributed as installable DVD server ISO images for both 32-bit and 64-bit architectures.
