South Africa dominated the 1st hour after picking up 3 quick wickets. Sehwag and Badri played some fantastic cricket to save India from the early blushes. Sehwag's 18th Test century was overshadowed by Steyn's breath-taking bowling spell. The World No. 1 bowler ripped through the Indian tail as he took 5 wickets in 3.4 overs after Tea and finished off with a very impressive bowling figures of 16.4-6-51-7. India were forced to follow-on after being dismissed for 233 and their woes continued in the second innings as well after they lost Sehwag and Gambhir early. India managed to end Day 3 at 66/2.
