The 56th Idea Filmfare Awards are underway and Dabanng has won the Best Film award. Arbaaz Khan and wife Malaika collected the trophy.
The Best Director award went to Karan Johar for My Name Is Khan. This is Karan's second trophy after 12 long years.
Vidya Balan won the Critics Award for Best Actress for Ishqiya. Critics Award for Best Actor has gone to Rishi Kapoor for Do Dooni Chaar.
Kareena Kapoor bagged the Best Supporting Actor (Female) award for We Are Family. The Best Supporting Actor (Male) went to Ronit Roy for Udaan.
Sonakshi Sinha won the award for Best Debut (Female) for Dabangg and Ranveer Singh was named the Best Debut (Male) for Band Baajaa Baaraat.
Sonu Niigam was the first performer of the gala night, while everyone is waiting for Madhuri Dixit's performance with Shah Rukh on stage.
The music and the technical awards have also been announced.
Gulzar yet again won the Best Lyricist award for Ibn-e-Batuta from the movie Ishqiya.
Rahat Fateh Ali Khan won the Best Playback Singer (Male) for the song Dil Toh Bachcha Hai Ji from Ishqiya. The award for the Best Playback Singer (Female) was shared by Mamta Sharma for Munni Badnaam Hui from Dabangg and Sunidhi Chauhan for Sheila Ki Jawani.
Farah Khan won the Best Choreographer award for Sheila Ki Jawani from Tees Maar Khan.
Anurag Kashyap and Vikramaditya Motwane bagged the Best Story award for Udaan.

Perfect Choice for the Best Actor, Best Actress & the Best Director Shahrukh Khan, Kajol & Karan Johar for My Name is Khan but really bad choice for the Best Film for Dabangg because it can’t deserve this awards & also nothing impressive in it to win the Best Film Award.
