South Africa v India T20I Highlights 9 Jan 2011

India tour of South Africa, Only T20I: South Africa v India Played at Moses Mabhida Stadium, Durban, Jan 9, 2011 Highlights Video, Match Report and Scorecard.
India win by 21 runs: India made the most of the good batting conditions early on as Rohit Sharma and Suresh Raina powered them to 168 runs. South Africa were always going to struggle as the pitch was getting lower and slower. Morne van Wyk gave the hosts hope with 67 from 39 balls, but they lost too many wickets up front and eventually fell short by 27 runs. Every Indian bowler chipped in with wickets, but the slow bowlers did most of the damage.

Van Wyk recorded the fastest 50 by a South African in Twenty20 cricket, taking just 24 balls to do so, with four fours and five sixes highlighting his skill in this format of the game.

The previous record was held by AB de Villiers, Graeme Smith and Loots Bosman, who had all scored half-centuries off 25 balls.

South Africa v India T20I Presentation:
Makhaya Ntini's last international game.
Makhaya Ntini: Hellooooo Durban! I would like to take this opportunity to thank each and every one of you for your support, it's been a lovely career that has lasted over 12 years. I would like to thank my family. Thank you Indians, it was great to play against you guys and coming to my guys from the South African team, you guys have been fantastic.
Makhaya Ntini is also honoured for a fabulous career.

Sachin Tendulkar: I would like to take the opportunity to thank Cricket SA for this wonderful gesture. The crowds have been fantastic today, I would like to thank them. Congratulations to Ntini for a fantastic career, it was always fun to play against him. He never allowed me to relax until the last ball and I can breathe free that he's retired now.

Cricket SA honours Sachin Tendulkar for his contribution for the world of cricket.
Mahendra Singh Dhoni lifts the trophy!

MS Dhoni: Well, of course, we had to put runs on the board. Rohit gave us the required start, but we lost wickets at regular intervals, at the end of the day 160-170 was quite a good score on this wicket. We have plenty of part timers who have become specialist T20 bowlers, thanks to the IPL. The spinners took advantage on this wicket, it was good to play here, but it would have been better to play football over here. It feels great to be a part of this match.
Makhaya Ntini is being presented a bowling machine for his cricket academy and also, Jonty Rhodes presents him a cricket ball.

Rohit Sharma with Man of the Match Trophy.
Rohit Sharma:
It was important to start the tournament on a good note and I'm thankful that it came at the right time. It is a good opportunity to cement my place, but I won't put extra pressure on myself, I will take it one match at a time.

I have been playing domestic cricket, I was aware of the conditions here and I'd come well prepared for today. Glad that things worked out for me.

Rohit Sharma is the Man of this Match for his excellent half century.
